Spring sure wasn’t late this year, but I am pretty late getting my Spring flower pictures up here! I have been so lazy about blogging lately, but I’m trying to get back at it! I have a few pictures piled up that I wanted to blog about, but never got to it.
The picture above is one of the pots I have in my ‘rock garden’ in front of the house. Tucker is trying to get a taste of them. He and Lucy both are like little goats – they go outside and graze on grass and weeds. I had to let him know that these weren’t weeds, so he wasn’t allowed to eat them! Ha!
Here is another one of my pots. I love those Lillies, but they are only pretty like that for about 3 days and then the flowers fall off and all you have left are the greens.
Here is the big pot that I have in the driveway. It turned out so pretty this year. I don’t know what those flowers are in the middle, but they have been blooming and blooming for weeks. I will have to get a more recent picture to put up here so you can how much it filled out. So pretty!
This is my latest gardening effort. I have a bunch of big boulders surrounding the well head off to the side of the front yard and every year I try to plant wild flower seeds down around there to get some kind of wild garden going. I have had absolutely no luck getting wild flowers to grow there, so this year I bought some perennial plants hoping that they will grow and spread.
It almost killed me planting those plants. It took me two days – it was so hot out that I couldn’t do the whole thing in one shot. The first day I had to cut all the tall grass and weeds down with a pair of garden clippers because Steve wouldn’t get the weed whacker out. He said it was broken, but I don’t know if I believe him. Anyway, it just about killed me cutting all that mess down. Then the next day, I had to get the shovel out and dig up the grass and loosen up the dirt. Again, thought it was going to kill me. I had to keep taking breaks to run the hose over my head and then sit down to try to get my breath back. I finally got them all planted and so far they are still alive and so am I! HaHa! I bought a couple more plants to go down there, but I haven’t gotten the strength up to plant them yet. I have to hurry up though because they are not looking so good in their pots.
