In July, the Hay Guy came and cut and baled the hay. I look forward to that every year because it makes me feel like a farmer! HaHa! Some day I’m going to get up the nerve to ask him if I can ride on the tractor with him. While Steve was taking this picture of me, the tractor and hay trailer were on their way toward us to start picking up all the bales. I almost missed my photo opportunity! I wanted to go in and get my straw farmer’s hat for the picture, but I didn’t have time. I didn’t want him to catch me being a goofball taking a picture in front of the hay.
Here is the hay cut and formed into rows in the front section. Talk about a fresh cut grass smell! Holy cow! So awesome!
Here is a wider shot of the back section

More bales with a nice shot of the algae in the pond. The algae is gone now – Steve finally found a good spray that took care of it.
Here is a nice picture I took through the window, so there is a bit of glare, but I got Mama deer (to the left of the bale on the right) and her two little ones. They come out almost every evening around 7pm. I think they are big enough now that I can stop worrying about the coyotes getting them.
