His name is Steve! HaHa! Actually, we bought that little garden tiller tool yesterday – it’s called the Hound Dog Garden Tiller. It worked great! Last time I dug up the grass down here with a shovel and it took me several hours to do what only took Steve and I about an hour to do last night! You can see Lucy in the background there supervising.
He twisted the grass clumps out and I pulled them out of the dirt, then he used the Hound Dog to loosen up the dirt some more. We had the grass gone and the plants planted in no time! Nobody got a sore back from it either!
Here are the plants that I bought at 30% off at Horrock’s to add to my rock garden. They are all perennials, so I’m hoping they will do well and come back year after year and hopefully even multiply. The ones I planted a few weeks ago (with the shovel) are doing pretty well so far, so I’m hopeful.
Here are the new plants in the new section we dug with our handy dandy new Hound Dog Garden Tiller. I love that thing! My plan is to put something over that well head to hide it, but I haven’t decided what yet.
Here is the other end of the garden that I already had planted. I added those metal trellis’ and those climbing plants a couple of weeks ago. I finally have a few of the vines attached to the trellis, so hopefully they will start growing up it to give the garden some height. I’d tell you the names of the flowers in there, but I don’t know them all. I just buy the ones I think are pretty. I never remember their names. Mostly they are different kinds of daisies. I know I have a couple of Butterfly plants in there too.
