Painting the Town Red!

Red Table 4

I found this little table or magazine rack or whatever it is in an antique store. I thought it was really unique with all the multiple lipped shelves. I can put lots of junk in there! It cost me $15.00 if I remember correctly. It is perfect for Steve to put his big lunch cooler on when he comes home from work. It drives me nuts when he plunks it right in the middle of the Island!

This is the first coat of paint on one side. It took 3 coats to get it to be more red than pink. I never really got those brown faux wood marks covered up, but oh well – I just about did.

Here is how it looked before I painted it.

Red Table 2

This isn’t a very good picture, but here it is finished. You can see my cell phone charger cord on the top shelf – now I can get that off my Island too! The other shelves are going to be for the mail and other debris that also always gets dumped on my Island! Reclaiming all my space!

Bar Chair 1

After I finished painting the table, I decided to paint this chair that I’ve had for years! We picked it one day at Lowe’s at a ridiculously low price. It was only about $5.00. There was only one of them, so I guess they wanted to get rid of it.

Bar Chair 2

Here it is all finished. I only put 2 coats of paint on it. Now it kind of matches the kitchen! I think I have to quit with the red paint now though because I have two tables, 4 dining room chairs and this bar stool all in the same red. I really did paint the town red! :)

Wow…that looks great! Who would guess how it started out.

Thanks Cindy! It really does look better in real life – I couldn’t get a good picture of it when it was sitting by the patio door. I guess I could have moved it, but that would have been too easy! Ha!
